Speed record of 19.05 knots still holds strong

Ewan McMahon and his dad still hold the Top Gun trophy for the fastest annual speed on Irish waters in an M15 set in the demo boat in Howth.

A good forecast for Friday night in Dublin Bay looked like the record may be under threat, but 20 knots windspeed, rather than 25knots forecast was all the sailors had to work with.

Using the Vakaros Atlas2 unit, 17.00 knots of boatspeed was hit, fun and fast but not fast enough! Footage below as the boat streaks across Dublin Bay.
